My Rating: 4 out of 5

My Review:

Jilly Jones ran away from her husband, who was cruel and abusive.  She along with her deceased fathers valet to go Mayfair and open a book store on Dreary Lane.  There she meets Captain Stephen Arrow, a rude neighbor who's looking to have fun before he sells his recently inherited house.  Stephen loves Jilly's exterior prim book store persona and can tell she's more and is hiding more.  He wants to learn more about her an her secrets.  The romance is romantic and sweet and heartbreaking at parts.  I didn't expect the ending but I truly enjoyed this read!  There were many problems the residence face and with Jilly in their corner and Stephen in hers, nothing can stop them!  Great 3rd installment int he  series!

Dukes to the Left of Me, Princes to the Right by Kieran Kramer

Goodreads Description:

Most women would not be pleased to be labeled a spinster. But Lady Poppy Smith-Barnes isn’t most women. In fact, Poppy has invented an imaginary fiancĂ©, the Duke of Drummond, to deter unwanted suitors. A very useful fellow, this duke, until the real Drummond turns up and uses Poppy’s ploy to trap her in a betrothal.
A good spy flies below the radar. Which is why being named one of the Prince Regent’s “Impossible Bachelors” is so inconvenient for Nicholas Staunton. Every society female will be out to ensnare him. Nicholas needs a fiancĂ©e—and Poppy’s ruse is the answer. How could he have known she’d be a brazen, sensual siren with an irresistible taste for adventure? Now nothing less will do than to convince his fiery Poppy to revoke her spinster status…for good.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

My Review:

I enjoyed this second story in the series, but it didn't compare all the way with the first one.  Poppy a self declared spinster, creates a Duke to get out of the many proposals she's had.  And all was going according to plan.  Even the Prince she met 6 years ago right before her mother died is in England.  She remakes his aquantance and then the ficticious Duke she invents shows up at the Ball and states they are engaged.  Nicholas needs to find a fiancee as per command of the service.  He's a spy and needs a fiancee to complete his cover.  An much to his disbelief he finds out a woman has already claimed they are in love and soon to be engaged.  He jumps at the chance to teach Poppy a lesson and solve his problem of finding an fiancee.  The rest of the story is about how they resist their feelings for each other, finish the mission, and get the painting!  I LOVED the ending and was so happy how it ended!  It was a little choppy in places and rushed in others but all in all a good read!

But when he’s named by the Prince Regent as one of society’s “Impossible Bachelors,” Harry is drafted into a ribald romantic wager. Besides, what could the self-indulgent Harry possibly know about what makes a woman delectable? It’s time for Molly to teach him a lesson once and for all...but will it lead to “happily ever after”?

My Rating: 5 out of 5

My Review:

Picked this up at my library and I'm glad I did!  I felt bad for Harry and all the Bachelors victim to Prinny's commands but I love how it turned out! I love the start of the book where Molly, who loves her sisters fiancee, writes a poem talking about the fiancee's younger brother, Harry, kissing Molly's Sister!  A huge fight follows, where Molly is told she is going to the country and not to london for school and Harry is to join the service! Thus sets the scene for Harry and Molly's great hate for each other.  Years later they find themselves stranded at a Inn and they need each other to get out of their problems.  The week Molly spends as Harry's Pretend Mistress are HILARIOUS! I love the romance the slowly forms and burns for each of them and I LOVE the ending.  Just such a fun book to read and great all around!

My Rating: 5 out of 5

My Review:

I got this out of my library an realized I had already read it and never reviewed it! It is infact the first of Tina Gabrielle's stories I read.  Isabel wants to be an artist and live in Paris with a family relation.  However her father has other plans which include an old miserable man being her husband.  However Isabel finds salvation in Marcus, a childhood acquaintance.  Marcus needing Isabel's help to prove his innocents agrees to help her.  They both don't realize until it's too late that they make the perfect couple.  I LOVED the mystery and action in the story as well as the romance.  It was perfectly paced and in my opinion was very nearly a perfect book.  Highly recommend!

Scandal's Bride by Stephanie Laurens

Goodreads Description:

How can an honorable lady like Lady Catriona Hennessy unite with a rake like Richard Cynster? Though charmed by his commanding presence, she cannot give up her independence. Marriage had not previously been on Richard's agenda, but perhaps taming the lady was just the challenge he needs -- if he can have the rights of the marraige bed without making any revealing promises of love?

My Rating: 4 out of 5

My Review:

I got this through my library as an ebook.  I read this book all last night and a few hours this morning and was done before 10 AM.  I loved reading Scandals story and meeting his wife.  The story wasn't as great as the last two but in no way bad!  A little more typical is all. They mystery was good but not unpredictable.  I loved The Lady concept and the concept of Catriona being so strong but realizing that a man won't weaken her but make her stronger.  And Scandal was the patient understanding hero who loved his wife so much he stepped aside to let her make the decisions.  The reversal of roles was refreshing. I loved the epilogue leading to the next story.  I will be getting it ASAP.

Yet however desirable she is now, Evie is still Evie—stubborn, smart, and never willing to take no for an answer. Even though proving her fiance's innocence might just cost her her own. . .

My Rating: 5 out of 5

My Review:

I was in my local Barnes and Noble and Tina Gabrielle was there signing books.  SO I absolutely HAD to get one and I found out she lives near me!  Awesomeness!  Anyway, I devoured this book.  I loved how strong and intelligent the heroine is in this and how the hero isn't just accepting of her brains but loves her more for them!  The mystery in this book was, to be honest, the best I've read in a romance in a VERY long time.  I didn't guess who the killer at all, I couldn't.  They all looked guilty.  I was on the end of my seat, turning pages as fast as I could at the end.  This is a must read!

A Chesapeake Shores Christmas by Sherryl Woods

After years apart, Mick and Megan O'Brien are finally ready to make it official…again. Most of their grown children couldn't be happier about their rekindled love and impending marriage this holiday season. Only Connor is a holdout. Driven to become a divorce attorney after what he views as his mother's abandonment of their family, Connor's not about to give his blessing to this reunion romance.
The last thing Megan wants to do is hurt her family again. After all, is she really sure she and Mick can make it this time around? And when an unexpected delivery causes chaos, it seems only a miracle can reunite this family.
Of course, it is Christmas—the season of miracles.

My Rating: 3 out of 5

My Review:

This was a decent book, but by no means a excellent book.  The story was slow in parts and very repetitive.  I did love the twist at Thanksgiving dinner and it did make the second half of the book go quicker.  The end was very predictable but it was very interesting to see how Megan and Mick FINALLY get together!  I will still be reading the next in the series though.  I can't wait to see how each member meets love!

A Rake's Vow by Stephanie Laurens

Goodreads Description:

With both of her parents gone, Patience Debbington is accustomed to managing her own affairs, and those of her teenage brother Gerrard. To her love is dangerous, men uninteresting and faithless. Gerrard needs a suitable mentor, but when tall elegant Vane Cynster rides into her life, Patience sees nothing but an arrogant, presumptuous dandy -- a man who drinks in her very soul like a fine wine and intoxicates her in the bargain.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

My Review:

GREAT second addition to the Cynster Series!  I can no wait for the next one to get into my hands! Patience's hard family life makes it hard for her to trust in love.  Vane, trying to escape fate, runs right into it in the form of Patience.  I loved all their interactions and the turmoil and heat in this book was fabulous!

Driftwood Cottage by Sherryl Woods

Goodreads Description:

Single mom Heather Donovan's dreams of home and family are tantalizingly within reach when she settles in Chesapeake Shores. The welcoming arms of the boisterous, loving O'Brien clan embrace her and her son. But accepting their support seems to further alienate her son's father, Connor O'Brien. His parents' divorce and his career as a high-powered divorce attorney have left him jaded about marriage.
Then everything changes. Will the possibility of a future without Heather make Connor look at love and his career differently? Heather's just about given up on her old dreams—of love, of family and especially of Driftwood Cottage, the home she secretly wishes were hers. It's going to take a lot of persuasion—and some help from the O'Brien family—to make Heather believe that some dreams are worth fighting for.

My Rating: 3 out of 5

My Review:

A decent addition to the series.  I was happy to see Connors story and to meet Heather and Little Mick.  However I hated the ending.  It felt rushed and choppy and seemed to be out of character for the characters.  It was like they snapped their fingers and changed their principles.  I didn't like it.  Definitely my least favorite of the series so far.  But I can't wait to see how all the others in the family find love!
