Frost Moon by Anthony Francis

Goodreads Description:

In an alternate Atlanta where magic is practiced openly, where witches sip coffee at local cafes, shapeshifters party at urban clubs, vampires rule the southern night like gangsters, and mysterious creatures command dark caverns beneath the city, Dakota Frost's talents are coveted by all. She's the best magical tattooist in the southeast, a Skindancer, able to bring her amazing tats to life. When a serial killer begins stalking Atlanta's tattooed elite, the police and the Feds seek Dakota's help. Can she find the killer on the dark fringe of the city's Edgeworld? Among its powerful outcasts and tortured loners, what kind of enemies and allies will she attract? Will they see her as an invader, as a seducer, as an unexpected champion ... or as delicious prey?
FROST MOON is Book One of the SKINDANCER fantasy series by debut author Anthony Francis. Filled with unforgettable characters, spine-tingling action, kinky rebellion and edgy love, FROST MOON is classic storytelling at its best, and Dakota Frost is an irresistible new star of fantasy fiction.

My Review:

I enjoyed this read.  I did have some issues at parts but in whole I have to say it was a great read.  With out giving spoilers I can't really go into what I had some issues with but I'll try.  For one thing I went through almost the whole book wondering what was going on with the Collar.  Did Dakota get the key and switch it out for a new one or what.  It is answered as a sort of last thought in the last few pages of the book and it didn't flow for me.  I also had an issue with the secret agent man and Dakota.  I didn't like how that ended.  I can only hope that there is something more in the next book to answer my questions.  BUT those were my only two issues.  I loved the mystery, I loved the twists and turns and the reveal!  I was very fascinated with the idea of magical tattoos and I enjoyed Dakota's expansion on her knowledge and skills and can't wait to see how she grows in the next book. I also am very eager to see how Cinnamon develops! All an all a good read and first I can't wait to read more from this author and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a paranormal mystery!
