But the scalding heat of her unsated desire for Devil soon had Honoria craving a very different sort of excitement. Could her passion for Devil cause her to embrace the enchanting peril of a lifelong adventure of the heart?

My Review:
I picked up this book, the beginning in the Cynster series, because Stephanie Laurens had the newest in the series just release. I hate picking up a book that's part of a series with out reading said series. SO I picked this up to start my journey through the Cynster family. I absolutely LOVED meeting Sylvester "Devil" Cynster and the rest of his family. I enjoyed the nicknames all the men have and I can't wait to find out how they each got them. Devil happens upon a woman, Honoria, trying to save his cousins life after he was shot. The story is about Devil and the rest of the Bar Cynster's solving the mystery of who and why Tolly was murdered as well as Devil and Honoria's path down love and all the heat and passion it can give them.
LOVE IT. I can not wait to get my hands on the next in the series!

Little does the ton know that each is one of England's most preeminent spies- with their secret identities guarded even from each other. But what are secret agents to do when the spying game is over and they suddenly discover a whole new spark in each other?
My Rating: 4 out of 5
My Review:
Adrian and Bridget are both spies for the crown. Neither knows the other is a spy. They live their lives in completely contentment separately. Then with out warning the war is over an they both loose there jobs. They have to return home and act like normal ton, like a normal family. They then suddenly discover each others secret identity and are put to task by the prime minister to solve his brothers murder to win the one spot available at their old job. It has great action and heated romance as they try to keep their hearts locked up and win the contest. Give it a try I can guarantee it won't disappoint.

Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase
Goodreads Description:
My Rating: 2 1/2 out of 5
My Review:
It was a good read but nothing over average. The romance is hot an heavy and very quick. The mystery isn't really interesting an at the end you don't even know for sure who killed Chad. Very frustrating. I liked the different shifter animals and how the building 'attracted' paranormals. It's a good cozy paranormal romance/semi mystery. I plan to read the second in the series just to see what happens to the characters but I don't have high expectations that the story will be fantastic, just average.

Desires of a Perfect Lady by Victoria Alexander

My Review:
I enjoyed this book. I haven't read the first in the series and it stood alone and I wasn't lost at all. The romance is entertaining and satisfying. I felt sorry for all Olivia had to endure with her husband and for what he does to her after he dies. I loved the treasure hunt, even if it seems highly improbable. Great read
(Sorry a short review house hold is dealing with colds and allergies)
A secret list of the desires of Lady Olivia Rathbourne:
Disregard convention
Follow my heart
Bed the Earl of Wyldewood
Follow my heart
Bed the Earl of Wyldewood
A decade ago, Olivia had expected to marry the Earl of Wyldewood, only to have happiness stolen from her before his ring could be placed upon her finger. Now he stands before her, as proud and arrogant and handsome as ever, vowing to rescue her. Well, he's got some nerve turning up after all these years. Where was he when she needed him?
As for the earl, scandal has never touched him nor has impropriety ever besmirched his name. But his penchant for doing the expected does have his family calling him, well, dull. Isn't it time to flaunt society's conventions and do what he's always wanted? And first on his list: Olivia in his bed—with or without a wedding.

Romancing the Countess by Ashley March
Goodreads Description:
My Rating: 3 out of 5
My Review:
The story over all was good. Sebastian and Leah's interactions are awkward and are suppose to be so. I appreciate Leah's heart break, her drive to be different from how she was raised and how she was as the dutiful wife. I can put myself in her shoes and think I'd do the exact things she did. I felt for Sebastian and his heart breaking realization that his wife wasn't who he thought she was and his best friend wasn't really a friend.
I thought the middle of the book was a bit daunting and slow. I caught myself skimming paragraphs looking for quotation marks. I'm sure you have done the same when trying to make it go faster and to get to better parts.
The ending was great. I loved it and I loved how it was written. It redeemed the book.
Sebastian Madinger, the Earl of Wriothesly, thought he'd married the perfect woman-until a fatal accident revealed her betrayal with his best friend. After their deaths, Sebastian is determined to avoid a scandal for the sake of his son. But his best friend's widow is just as determined to cast her mourning veil aside by hosting a party that will surely destroy both their reputations and expose all of his carefully kept secrets...
Leah George has carried the painful knowledge of her husband's affair for almost a year. All she wants now is to enjoy her independence and make a new life for herself-even if that means being ostracized by the Society whose rules she was raised to obey. Now that the rumors are flying, there's only one thing left for Sebastian to do: silence the scandal by enticing the improper widow into becoming a proper wife. But when it comes to matters of the heart, neither Sebastian nor Leah is prepared for the passion they discover in each other's arms....

My Review:
I was so let down by this book. I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 because I want to read the next in the series, and see how the two sisters meet their loves. I didn't understand the little comments at the beginning of each chapter. They didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to them. The first half the book the the same thing OVER AN OVER, which would be Marcelline and the Duke's Cat and Mouse game and their denial about their true feelings due to other responsibility. It got boring VERY quickly. The end was abrupt and unsatisfactory. The writing it's self was decent and and the timing average. Nothing to write home about at all. But pick it up and see for yourself.
From the Design Book of Marcelline Noirot:
The allure of the perfect gown should be twofold:
ladies would die to wear it . . .
and gentlemen would kill to remove it!
The allure of the perfect gown should be twofold:
ladies would die to wear it . . .
and gentlemen would kill to remove it!
Brilliant and ambitious dressmaker Marcelline Noirot is London's rising star. And who better to benefit from her talent than the worst-dressed lady in the ton, the Duke of Clevedon's intended bride? Winning the future duchess's patronage means prestige and fortune for Marcelline and her sisters. To get to the lady, though, Marcelline must win over Clevedon, whose standards are as high as his morals are . . . not.
The prize seems well worth the risk—but this time Marcelline's met her match. Clevedon can design a seduction as irresistible as her dresses; and what begins as a flicker of desire between two of the most passionately stubborn charmers in London soon ignites into a delicious inferno . . .and a blazing scandal.
And now both their futures hang by anexquisite thread of silk . . .

Flowers on Main by Sherryl Woods
Goodreads Description:
My Rating: 4 out of 5
My Review:
A great second book in the series. The only issue I had with this story was the out of nowhere comments about Megan's innocent interactions with a stranger right before she left Mick. This wasn't commented at all in the first book and I would of imagined Jess would of used that against her mom. I felt like it was an after thought from the first book and in truth it wasn't even necessary. But that was a side story in the book so it wasn't too irritating. Jake and Bree's story is realistic and emotional and their paths back to each other is hard. I enjoyed reading all their up and downs and seeing the other members of the family grow. I can't wait to read Kevins book next!
When her last two plays are dismal failures and her relationship with her temperamental mentor falls apart, writer Bree O’Brien abandons Chicago and the regional theater where she hoped to make a name for herself to return home. Opening Flowers on Main promises to bring her a new challenge and a new kind of fulfillment.
But not all is peaceful and serene in Chesapeake Shores, with her estranged mother on the scene and her ex-lover on the warpath. Jake Collins has plenty of reasons to want Bree out of his life, but none of those are a match for the one reason he wants her to stay: he’s still in love with her.
Jake might be able to get past that old hurt if he knew Bree was home to stay, but is she? The only way to know for sure is to take a dangerous leap of faith.

The Inn at Eagle Point by Sherryl Woods
Goodreads Description:
It's been years since Abby O'Brien Winters set foot in Chesapeake Shores. The Maryland town her father built has too many sad memories and Abby too few spare moments, thanks to her demanding Wall Street career, the crumbling of her marriage and energetic twin daughters. Then one panicked phone call from her youngest sister brings her racing back home to protect Jess's dream of renovating the charming Inn at Eagle Point.

My Review:
I enjoyed this story. I picked it up after reading the newest in the series and decided I'd love to see how everyone got together. I love the realistic feel of this book. The constant issues and family squabbles are like so many I've witnessed or participated in myself. The story and romance is great and had me feeling a dozen different emotions. Touching entertaining book!

The Seduction of An Unknown Lady by Samantha James
Goodread Description:
My Rating: 4 out of 5
My Review:
I loved this book. The only reason it gets a 4 out of 5 instead of a 5 out of 5 is because the first hand full of chapters seemed a bit long. There was a lot of redundancy in my opinion that if cut out or was only referenced half as much would of helped the story along in those first few chapters. After them though, the book was great! There is a lady, who's father was country gentry, who lives over her book shop taking care of her ill mother. She keeps to herself to hide her secrets, being her mothers apparent madness and her secret life as a gothic author. Then there's a second brother to a Duke, Aiden, newly returned from India an who has a tormented soul from his time there. Their interactions are great. Both are strong willed and determined to have their will win out. In the end the both find what their looking for even if it's not what they initially expected.
I loved the courtship and the clashing of wills the hero and heroine had and I also loved the little twist at the end. I was second guessing who I suspected the evil character was. I love when I am kept on my toes while reading a book. Highly recommend.
Seduction is something Fionna Hawkes knows nothing about. So when she encounters a sexy stranger on a moonlit street, her first instinct is to defend herself against her darkly handsome suitor. But letting go of suspicion and allowing herself to fall for Lord Aidan McBride brings even greater danger. In his eyes, she glimpses a powerful passion she longs to fulfill. In his arms, she aches with the secret she longs to unburden. A secret that could cost her her livelihood—and her life.
Aidan could never resist a mystery, especially one as mesmerizing as the lovely Miss Hawkes! Drawing her into the shelter of his embrace, he won't rest until he convinces her to reveal everything. Braving the danger that stalks Fionna at every turn, Aidan is determined to defend her—and just as determined to claim her as his own.

Baring It All
My Rating: 3 out of 5
My Review:
This book was just ok for me. I did enjoy seeing the inside of the pack more and learning more about the attempted take over years before. The romance between Maggie and Nick was good, not great though. I had a hard time seeing Maggie as the fearful girlfriend as she was written to be such a hard ass most of the time. It just wasn't convincing to me. I also thought the ending wasn't very convincing. I can't imagine Maggie leaving the pack with the other Alpha while she goes on her honeymoon. Especially while things are so new and all. Just all around disappointing ending. Decent read thought and if you enjoyed book 1 and wanted to see more of the characters it's worth the read. Just not as good as the first.
Baring It All
Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stone’s throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valley’s pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg. Maggie just can’t seem to convince Nick to leave . . . and even worse, she can’t convince herself to stay away from him. Cross-species dating is problem enough for a harried alpha female, but on top of that, a rival group of werewolves is trying to move into the valley. With interpack war threatening, Maggie can’t afford to be distracted. Combining romance and a career can be tough for anyone; for a werewolf in love with a human, it may be disastrous. . . .

All About Seduction by Katy Madison
Goodreads Description:
Caroline Broadhurst is about to take a lover -- at her husband's command. For fifteen years, Caroline has done everything her much older husband has desired -- except provide an heir. Now he has given her an ultimatum: seduce a suitable gentleman and bear a son. Caroline would never think of bowing to such a shameful order, but then she meets Jack Applegate.
Jack has longed for the beautiful, untouchable Caroline for years, but the chasm between them was too wide to ever dream of crossing. Now, fate and passion have thrown them together, but the potential scandal threatens to smother their love. And when a violent secret comes to light, only a terrible sacrifice will prevent the flame of their affection from being snuffed out forever. . .
My Rating: 4 1/2 out of 5
My Review:
I enjoyed this read. It was well written and the plot was well laid out. I felt bad for Jack, he had so many bad things happen and I so wanted him and Caroline to have their happy ending. And they do, but not before a lot of crap first. It all starts off with Caroline's husband demanding she take a lover to get pregnant an have a son. She doesn't want to and after a few failed attempts that did nothing but humiliate her she turns to the one man she is attracted to Jack. He was injured in a mill accident while saving a little girl. Caroline insists that she have her way with his healing since she is being made to commit the sin of adultery. Jack shows her what passion is and she helps him heal and encourages him to make his dreams a reality in more ways then one. Great read!
